a Child in Need
IMPORTANT NOTICE.... PLEASE READ!
There is a beautiful little boy named Tyler who lives in Gainesville, Florida. His father, Rick Staab, brought his son's condition to my attention because Tyler is afflicted with a very bad case of dystonia. At the age of seven, he has already undergone two brain stimulation operations. Yet, he continues to live with seizures and flalling (the uncontrollable flying of the hands and arms when seizing.)
Mr. Staab arranged to have a golf tournament and outing to raise money for research. He's doing very well. Even the state of Florida is behind him. They are taking care of the building setup. But, its not enough. He needs money to pay the salaries of the researchers. Their research will certainly benefit Tyler and many of us, too.
I've sent down a number of books to their golf outing being held on August 16th. These books deal with dystonia and will give the reader an idea of what its like to live with the disease. As the author of "Learning, Coping, Living" and "Hurricane Within Me," I have set to words a description of how many of us must live with this disease. I can't imagine it for a young child, like Tyler.
